Shishir Rao is a research consultant with the Center for Wildlife Studies, Bengaluru and an alumnus of the WCS-India and NCBS Master’s program in wildlife biology and conservation. His research interests lie at the intersection of ecology, hydrology and freshwater conservation. His current project involves understanding the spatial patterns of hydrological connectivity in the west-flowing rivers of the Western Ghats. In the past, he has worked in the Sakleshpur landscape to understand the socio-ecological issues related to small hydropower development.
